Avaliação da contribuiçãoI am absolutely in love with this store since I found it a month ago! It's a hidden gem that I wish I had discovered sooner, considering I've been living nearby for a while now. The shop may have a modest facade, but inside it is a treasure trove of culinary delights. They offer a wide variety of products, from olives from different countries, to fresh hummus, Italian chocolate wafers, spices from the Middle East, and a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. I am captivated by everything they have to offer and never want to leave. They can take all my money because I will definitely be coming back many times.
This place is wonderful. They offer both a takeout hot food counter and a grocery section. The food is fresh, delicious, and innovative. The staff are also very friendly. I highly recommend it for a casual lunch, catering for your event, or as your go-to grocery store!
Phoenicia is a must-visit destination in Kentish Town. This fantastic shop offers a wide array of food items, both exotic and traditional, from all the ingredients needed to cook Ottolenghi recipes to everyday snacks like crisps. In addition to the impressive selection, there is a French section catering to local tastes, as well as a restaurant where you can dine in or grab Middle Eastern delicacies to go. The butcher's shop and rotating chicken rotisserie are also highlights, serving up the best roast chicken in town. With prepared salads and a dazzling selection of olives and fresh herbs at the entrance, you have everything you need for a perfect picnic. It's a great spot to browse, grab a bite, and discover something new every time you visit.
We had two lovely wraps and the price was great, BUT the guy working behind the counter in the deli was genuinely rude and obviously disinterested in serving us, and clearly got annoyed when asked questions. Maybe he was having a bad day, but we got very disappointed as the store is lovely and the staff is usually really nice/helpful!
I have shopped at Phoenicia for many years. Whenever I go visit family I like to bring them a selection of Lebanese sweets and Phoenicia was just the place to get them. Until today (around12h30)! I needed 2 trays with a selection of sweets. This came to just above £8.00. I had other items I wanted to get from the shop so asked if I could pay for the sweets at the main till (as I have always done in the past). I was told no . When I went to pay by card I was then told that I had to pay cash as it was under £10.00. I did not have the cash with me and pointed out that my shopping would come to more than £10.00 once I completed it. Still no. I left the sweets behind, proceeded with the rest of my shopping and out of interest asked at the main till whether rules had changed and sweets purchased at the counter had to be paid there. I was told that I could indeed pay at the main till just like I had done many times in the past! And 1 more thing... my shopping also came to £8.52 yet I was (surprisingly) able to pay by card for it at the main till. To say that I am disappointed by the service of 1 member of staff is understating it. I will opt to go to Edgware Road/Marble Arch from now on. Phoenicia is after all not the only Lebanese shop/restaurant in London!
