"This cafe is located in the main square opposite the hotel and has now installed glass windbreaks to their external areas, which makes it much more bearable in the breeze. We had a cheeseburger and cheese and ham toastie plus 2 large beers one lunchtime. There are no fancy garnishes but the food is freshly cooked and tasty. Good service. The total bill was under €10 - bargain. Recommended for breakfasts and lunches."

"Me and Becky stopped here today and what can I say- brilliant and friendly service, awesome views of the beach and amazingly good and amazingly good value food. We both went for the chicken which came with a lovely fresh salad, a perfectly cooked timbale of rice, freshly cooked chips and the most juicy and flavoursome chargrilled chicken. Becky had half a bottle of white and I had Coke Zero and all for less than €30. The waiting staff were efficient but not pushy and treated regulars as importantly as first timers. Would definitely recommend this place whether you like surfing or just enjoy big waves crashing on the beach"

"Pretty bad service, had to wait a solid half before they let us know they didn't have the wine we chose. Meals arriving out of sync, they didn't have cold water?!? Food was below average for Portuguese standards, but the worse was definitely everything taking hours to get to the table, despite the waitresses excuses. There are so many amazing restaurants in Vila do Bispo, I'm surprised O Palheiro gets away with this terrible service. Not coming back."
