This is a nice restaurant on the water in Belleville, the food is typical of a seafood restaurant and was good quality. The wait staff were friendly and made helpful suggestions. It does get very busy so go early.
Went with my family (bothers niece, spouse). i ordered Cajun Halibut with rice. I expected a nice piece of halibut blackened, moist, flaky and a good presentation. what I received a a small (3X3 1/2 inch thick) dried out piece of something. I couldn't tell if it halibut, or anther type of fish product. needless to say it tasted like it looked. If I was the chef, I would be embarrassed to serve a dish that presented so poorly and knew the customer would not like it.. it looked like it was cooked at 5:00 then someone changed their mind and it was put in the back burner and served to me at 6:30. I would usually call the manager to the table however I had my young niece with us. Not a good example for a young lady to follow. Our bill came to $270.00 with tip. not a good experience won't be back. why do restaurants like the Boathouse feel they can serve and treat patrons like that. Do you not want to compete in today's market? by the way the rice was good. but I didn't come for the rice. T.G Trenton
If you're looking for fantastic food, friendly atmosphere from both staff and customers alike all at casual dining prices this is THE absolute best place to go. Especially if you don't mind enjoying your food on a patio with a soft breeze coming off the lake while watching sail boats (and only sail boats mooring right next to you. Heaven! We were there for lunch today. Hubby had the spicy calamari and ate every crumb. I had the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. My gluten free request (allergy was meet with immediate knowledge and delivered perfectly. OMG The salad. Crisp lettuce, the perfect amount of dressing, lots of real bacon bits and lots of pharm. (You may think, big deal, a cesar salad, but trust me if you're a salad lover, you know the difference. The beer (for hubby and the glass of Chardonnay for me were nice and cold. Perfect. We'll be stopping by again soon.
Creditable seafood and a decent drink list served in a clean, uncrowded and tasteful space. The servers were efficient yet friendly. But the biggest reason to come here is the waterfront harbour view, especially at sunset.
