Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe regularly visited this restaurant whilst living in manly, the food was as close to a traditional curry as you can get, the sour lime lamb is absolutely superb. The service was always very good, and they always accommodated our requests. It was a silent relief from the majority of bland Australian fare.
Had dinner here the other night with my partner, ordered the tandoori chicken to start and despite that we were the only people there it took a very long time to come out, it was very very dry and the yogurt sauce that accompanied it was flavoured with mint jelly. Yuck. I had the goat curry which was lacking flavour the meat was chewy and the cardamon pods were crunchy instead of deliciously soft and palatable which you'd expect from long and slow cooking. My partner had the vegetable vindaloo ordered it hot and it was hardly mild, it came with only some peas and carrots in a flavourless Heinz like tomato sauce was absolutely the most unauthentic disgusting meal. We also ordered the salad of cucumber tomato and onion, came out as hacked slices of tomato and massively sliced un edible rounds of red onion dressed barley in lemon juice. Waitress was lovely. Don't not bother eating here. Waste of time and money.
We drove pass here and thought it's not a good sign, no one in there... Then we looked on Trip advisor and the reviews seemed ok. This Resturant does not look anything like the one in that photo.....that is a different Resturant. The toilets were out the back in a dirty alley way... We walked in, it's 30 drg - No air con.... The lady who served us was very nice and did a great job. The food was the let down, Chicken tikka was not cooked in the tikka oven it was chicken brushed with some paste and it was dry. The Pakora was the size of 50 cent piece but Flat - like there was noting to them. We got one each and they had no favour - A flat waste of time..... Butter Chicken Med - looked great on arrival, but that first mouth full was like a sweet sickly sauce with No spice kick, it was so overwhelming sweet I struggled to eat it. And the chicken was cut up into tiny tiny sized bits to make it look like you were getting lots. There was no med kick to this Butter Chicken it was mild...The bread was good and I enjoyed it with the Rata.
My partner and I chose to dine at this restaurant on Valentine's Day and I must say, I have nothing but praise for the food. The curries and naan were delicious and full of fantastic flavors. The prices were reasonable and it seems to be a family-owned establishment. The service was good, although the decor could use a bit of sprucing up. I will definitely be returning in the future.
I have never wrote a review before but felt compelled to after visiting The Kings Indian Cuisine at Manly, Brisbane last night. From the minute we walked in we were meet with hostility and terrible service. I have never ever before been for a meal where my husband and I and our friends felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome for the entire time. A gentleman came to take our order and was very abrupt in his manner. When the 4 main courses arrived it was dumped on the table in front of us with no explanation what each dish was. 3 people had ordered Saffron rice and 2 oval plates were put on the table. I ordered Coconut rice which they had forgot to make with no apology. When the coconut rice came it was like baby mush and was on a oval dish. When we called the miserable and rude waitress over to ask about the missing portion of Saffron rice we were told that the 2 plates were for 3 people however the Coconut rice was same size for just 1. The food was just ok but the shocking service made it an unpleasant experience. The plates were taken away after we'd finished in a very uncomfortable manner and I can truthfully say we will NEVER return and I wish we'd walked out!
