La Langosta Loca - Puerto Vallarta

Ordered one of the most expensive items (molcajete) had no flavor, no salt, fish had a funny smell, got sick after that and wouldn’t recommend it

The service was excellent and the food was better then average! They added 15% to the bill for a tip automatically! They asked for ID when I used my Apple Card Apple Card is made of metal and has no numbers or name on it) .

Great spot to enjoy the sunset and delicious food! Ask the waiters for recommendations, as they may have incredible options not listed on the menu. I had skewered shrimp with a delicious salad, and my husband enjoyed the tacos! Be sure to eat inside the restaurant, as the beach gets busy with vendors.

We were at this restaurant in December and enjoyed it so decided to go back today for lunch. The location is great- right on the ocean . However our experience today was not good at all. My husband ordered the Octopus chicharron and I ordered the seafood cocktail which we had enjoyed in December . Service was initially good and the food was delivered promptly. The chicharrons were good. However with my first bite of a scallop from the seafood cocktail I knew there was a problem- it was raw and tasted “off” and I have eaten seafood all my life and know when it is not good . I told the waiter about this but he initially told me all the seafood in the cocktail was cooked definitely the shrimp and octopus looked cooked but when I insisted that the scallop was raw he then told me that even though the shrimp and octopus were cooked the scallops were meant to be raw which makes no sense! He then offered to remove the scallops from the dish! Given that one was bad there was a chance all the items had been affected so I certainly did not wish to eat it after the scallops were picked out of it! He told me I would have to pay for it so I should let him remove the scallops. No other solution was offered. So I just shared my husbands meal. We basically were then ignored until another person came by once we were done and told us they could remove it from the bill but the waiter would have to pay for it! Of course I’m not going to make the waiter pay and shocked they tried to make me feel guilted into paying for an inedible dish . I told them I did not want the waiter to pay but the restaurant should do something. After that all service slowed and we had to wait quite a while until we could find someone to ask for the bill. When the bill arrived they had charged me full price for an inedible item and to top it off they added an “ optional” 18% tip! I paid the bill but not the tip . Because of the poor management handling of this situation we will never return.

The food was surprisingly good, really good in fact. I came here with family that was visiting and really expected an overpriced mediocre beach restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Everything we had from appetizers to main course to drinks were top notch. The service was a bit scattered in that it might have been lunch break or change of shift so we ended up having three different waiters but it all worked out. I live in Vallarta and will definitely be back here regularly.
