LA PLACITA BURGER BAR - Santa Marta

Here I am again in Santa Marta, at the La Placita Burger Bar and I find out that the Burgers here are tasty, well prepared and served in nice looking manner. The place has nice music and it is visited by locals and tourists all the same. Give it a Try!

I'm not into burger science, but every now and then you come across what ranks as a most excellent burger, and you know it - sadly, you wont find this at La Placita. Slow service - 20 minutes for a burger with no other customers - reasonable but profoundly average burger, good fries. Was expecting more in light of the reviews. Blocked toilets and no running water in the sink topped off a most average of meals.

Have been here three times last night was the best.Service was quick 20 min. Burger was perfectly prepared slightly pink inside.My girlfriend had the Italian burger I always have the placita burger with cheese bacon and a hint of bbq sauce.I eat it as presented. I live in St.Louis where there are many good burger places,I would go out of my way to eat here. By the way the other burger joint around the corner had no customers,and la placita was full of locals.A good indicator of quality.

We tried this one place on our stay in Santa Marta. We chose it as we were in the mood for a hamburger and the other place was full on the square. We were able to get seated and the attention was awful. However that is not the reason for my review. The meat was undercooked and I frankly and not sure if it had been left out and unsanitary. We regretfully ate as we were hungry and need to catch our shuttle back to Cartagena for a flight. When in airport of Cartagena I realized my mistake in eating and basically spent the longest hours of my life sick on an airplane. Upon arriving dehydrated at home my partner too fell ill. I may never eat a hamburger again. Please beware of sanitary conditions here especially if you are traveling.

We looked everywhere for it and it wasn't anywhere- asked around the location and address and no on knew where it was or had heard of it. Trip advisor needs to do a better job of cleaning their database so people do go looking (down dark alleys, with kids) to find a burger joint only to be disappointed.
