Le Prieuré - Vignoux sur Barangeon

Unprofessional and indifferent Customer Service throughout our two days stay. Accommodation was uncared for. Take it or leave atmosphere. We could not leave fast enough.

This is our first tripadvisor review and concerns the hotel more than the restaurant. We were on our way down to our house in the Dordogne so we know France, food and hotels! Although the food was OK for a hotel of this level (2* our major gripe was for the appalling lack of courtesy. We arrived around 16.30 after a long journey to find the hotel closed. The answering machine advised us to call back after 18.00. After sitting outside in the pool area (not very well looked after for about half an hour a woman appeared who was apparently unhappy at where we had parked (in the parking area at the front of the hotel . When we pointed out (in French we had been waiting for some time she replied that she had jobs to do. So far as the rooms and ambience of the hotel is concerned, there was a general lack of tidyness and a schools ' dinners smell pervaded the place. Our room was disappointing, small and cramped with few facilities eg a hatstand with two wire hangars and a shower room that was in need of refurbishment. Restaurant not bad, the hotel overall to be avoided in our opinion.

A beautiful address full of charm. We stayed a night on our way to Paris. A warm welcome, attentive service, we enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool all afternoon. The building is full of charm, comfortable rooms. And especially a high quality meal, homemade with fresh products and a very pleasant service. A beautiful intimate and charming address

Excellent food and nice rooms with AC. The garden with pool is like a haven of peace.

My friend booked two rooms b&b for us as we journeyed through the beautiful French countryside. The pictures on the booking dot com website looked amazing with a stunning looking swimming pool. It stopped there... The pictures were obviously taken from a previous owners time there and better days. The swimming pool was full of dirty water and had to be covered over. The grounds unkempt and overgrown. There was a musty smell which resonated throughout the establishment. The bedrooms were tired and shabby and I found a good quantity of some one else's hair across the floor. The ensuite was home to a squadron of the noisiest mosquitoes ever. The unpainted section of wall in the ensuite carried over the unkempt appearance along with chipped tiles and mould around the shower fittings. Very disappointed with the breakfast which was sparce to say the least. Please think before visiting. My personal thoughts will be AVOID
