The Boat House - Winona

This was always our favorite place, but after tonight; we'll find a new favorite place. There is a chalkboard for the menu instead of one brought to you at the table. I miss having a wait person. Now the food--used to be the best in town. The fries tasted like they were cooked twice and over cooked. Everything was disappointing since this was always a great place to go to. We miss the boathouse that it was.

During our vacation, we visited this restaurant. The process of ordering and paying was quite frustrating. We had to wait in line for 15 minutes behind 6 people before we could order and pay for our food. Additionally, we were asked to leave a tip for our prepaid meal, which we found unnecessary. The check-in space seemed poorly utilized, and the other customers waiting with us were also unimpressed. After finally receiving our table number, we seated ourselves at a table that was not clean. The kitchen staff member who brought out our cheese curds took the initiative to wash it himself when we informed him. We ordered the cod fish fry, which was very greasy and the fries were just okay. Nobody checked on us during our meal, and we had to get our own drinks. Despite this, I gave my tip to the staff member who cleaned our table, as he went above and beyond. The restaurant was very noisy, making it difficult to hear my boyfriend across the table. The air conditioning did not seem to be working well. However, the view of the river from our table was beautiful. After our meal, we checked the outdoor seating area, which had potential but the tables were dirty and non-washable. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant, but we will visit the river walk nearby.

The Boathouse is a must-visit destination. Every item on the menu, from the cocktails to the entrees, is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. While the restaurant doesn't follow the traditional full table service model, the new ordering process at the front is incredibly efficient and ensures that the food reaches your table in no time.

Beautiful scenery and well made food. We went when it was snowing and it was so magical to sit and watch the snow hit the water. Food was delicious and the workers were very kind!

Juicy Lucy was gross. Counter ordering, menu is difficult to read, and it's 10 ft from the door. I strongly suggest avoiding this place.
