Taverne Alexander - Aachen

We were visiting Aachen from Melbourne Australia for Christmas. Melbourne city has the largest population of Greeks outside of Athens so we are every spoilt for choice and the food is always exceptional. At this restaurant we ordered moussaka which was on special, after it...arrived we could see why, it was dried up and we assume left over from the previous day. Two other dishes that were ordered were pretty much the same standard and each one came with chips (french fries) something we have never found eating in Melbourne and eating in Greece itself. This was all very disappointing because all the staff were lovely and helpful after our meal we were each given a shot glass or Ouzo.

We wanted to eat something in the neighborhood of our hotel. We are pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the employees, the prices and the great food. The Gyros complete was great. We never had such well prepared Gyros. All the other dishes looked well...also. So, for a nice price, friendly waiters and good food... The is the place to be!

Family-owned restaurant and it shows, staff is very friendly and you see it's family and a close team. Creates a special atmosphere. The food isn't a gourmet deal but offers a good selection of typical greek dishes. Loved the tzatziki-sauce and the mixed grill plate...is to die for. No salads, just meat and french fries If you are looking for a quick tasty dish, make sure you don't pass by this restaurant!

One does not want to go to fancy places.Not posh, not hipster, not whatsoever. One wants to sit on a terrace. Simple wine, a salad, bread, honest food. If you feel the same way, go to this taverna. It is incredibly affordable, everyone seemed satisfied,...a good place. Go there!

Hier gibt es die leckerste Pitta Gyros in Aachen,man kann das Zaziki essen und am nächsten Tag ohne Knoblauchfahne arbeiten gehen.Man braucht auch keine zwei Liter Wasser neben dem Bett.Das Gyros ist perfekt zubereitet und schmeckt fantastisch.Wir sitzen sehr gerne ab dem Frühjahr draußen und genießen das leckere Essen. Die Portionen sind nicht so groß,was ein wenig schade ist.Drinnen sitzen wir nicht so gerne,da nicht viel Platz vorhanden ist.Was ich auch sehr gerne mache ist,Anrufen / vorbestellen und das Essen mit nachhause nehmen.Klappt immer sehr gut.Einen Ouzo gibt es nach dem Essen...Jiamas
