Bar Restaurant La Plancha

Nice restaurant, directly at the Boulevard, restaurant open until midnight. Definitely worth another visit!!

Blainville is one of these very busy place in summer. La blanche offers very good meals and is ideally located on the beach. We dine there very late on a Friday evening arriving late in the city. But they welcome you warmly even after 10pm. We were so happy by the service and the quality of the food that we came back the next day to be equally satisfied. This is not extravagant food but that's very well made and the staff is friendly. I can only recommend the place.

We have been here a couple of times a friend introduced us, the setting is amazing sea views, we stopped for a quick lunch the cider and beer was good.

Arriving in Coutainville at 4pm saturday,I asked the lady who met us where to eat. She said La Plancha is best for food and price. She was spot on.Being Saturday we got there early...only one table occupied so we picked a table and sat down. The waitress asked if we had a reservation (no)., I thought it was the usual wind up but the place did fill up totally. Anyhow she let us sit where we were which was by the window looking out towards Jersey.Menu came and we found out why it is called La Plancha . They serve Tapas along with french and seafood dishes. My wife can eat very little so she ordered Tempura Mussels which were surprisingly exactly what you might expect! I ordered something meaty because they had a red wine I am very fond of,but when I asked for the wine ,they had none...nor did they have my second choice. I was recommended to try a Coteaux de Giennois, I acquiesced and changed my food order to a seafood selection...6 oysters.6 tiger prawns and large bowl of Bulots..absolutely fantastic and only 18or 19 euros.The wine turned out to be excellent...so good that I ordered some when I got home.Go..you won't be disappointed

We trawled the town for somewhere to eat, and ended up here as this looked the most interesting. The environment is good, it's open and clean. We were greeted very friendly, the menu is on a blackboard/s. Our first order was revised when what we ordered was not available. So we had anchovies and mussels as tapas. The anchovies were simply a tin or jar of oiled anchovies decanted into a more decorative tin. The mussels had a very 'we arrive frozen in this batter' look about them. Both were OK, but not brilliant. Main course was the house special of large prawn described as Gambas to go with the Spanish theme. But this was disappointing as the crime of putting a tasty piquante sauce over stilled shelled seafood was committed, this just makes for a messy and unpleasant dining experience, although they were good and the sauce was good (sort of mild pil pil with a yogurt softening to it, it was a pain to eat. Cider good, beer ok, and reasonably priced wine section. Balmy nights sat on the seaward side would be great, but don't expect hugely appealing food, it's not send back bad, just not wonderful. But very friendly which goes a long way when tired and in a strange town.
