Barah Handi - Ahmedabad

A place with an interesting character in an old place.....not very large....its like hidden in a corner kind of place.....regular budget restaurant seating and a bit of time travel......The food is just amazing.....it is very different than what you get in the North of India...in look, feel and flavour....the Tandoori, tawa and handi food is very rich in flavour.....A must try for any meat lover in Ahmedabad, or visiting the city.....the best experience of the Old city one can get as a food lover.....

One of the best Non-Veg foods being offered in Ahmedabad. Tandoori Chicken at its lowest price and best coal based barbeque. Tandoori roti, Bhaji Gosht and Saki Gosht are having flavors to die for. Only issue I face is seating capacity which needs to be increased but staff is very supportive, who manages things easily.

Its actually not a food place , its an experience !! Everything is very much live here. Located in very narrow street, the street is having random small food stalls and live tawas. This place is divided in two parts, tawa section and bara handi section. I tried tawa food, their special green chicken and unique tandoori roti accompanied with Sosyo (Local cold drink). As i am not a hardcore non veg eater,  On my request they have prepared boneless green chicken. I never had such a tasty food in my life so far. Surely visit again and again to experience the heritage of ahmedabad.

I have had mutton but this was out of the world .the mutton just melts in your mouth and the curry is adequately spiced giving it a distinct flavour...now for those who require five star food and willing to give up on 5 star amenities ..this place is just fabulous

The ratings are strictly for the food served. Must try is their green chicken (its only available when the tawa section is operational), Maafak tandoori butter roti, Chicken Tandoori, Keema khichdi with Paya Soup (again available on tawa only).
