Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe booked and pre-paid a 3-course country-style meal for our family (incl. 2 teens). Arrival at the fairytale property in the snowy forest only enhanced anticipation of a magical experience. The website offers Local ingredients and clean, honest flavours and we were not disappointed: every course was delicious, with some unusual flavours and dishes. And it seemed great value for money. What let down the whole experience a little was the service, or lack thereof. We read Enter the elements ' kitchen and participate in the story behind your own meal and had high hopes of an arctic dining experience . We followed other guests arriving at the same time, took off our shoes at the door as they did, but we received no welcome, no directions to our table, no descriptions and stories about the food, and no farewell nor anyone to thank at the end of the meal. Our various waitresses were lovely, if apparently inexperienced and somewhat lacking knowledge of the dishes. So disappointing. In summary, the food was excellent but the service lacked the warmth, welcome and narrative that the meal deserved.
So we were basically browsing through google maps for a place to stop and have something to eat before driving back to Finland. Trasti Trine was located further away from Alta centre, so based on that we decided to give it a try. We had been hiking the whole day and our clothing was based on college pants and woollies, so naturally it occured to us that the place was nothing less than a fixed menu and fine dining restaurant... After short confusion of the fact that we hadn't made a reservation, we were kindly invited in. We received really friendly and proficient service, and the food was simply excellent. We weren't exactly the regular type of customers for the restaurant and our clothings were totally out of place, and yet we felt ourselves welcome right from the start. Trasti Trine is a place we totally want to visit again!
We went on a dog sleigh ride with the whole family including our kids 5 and 1,5 years old! It was simply amazing, such a great experience for everyone even in 8 degrees! We highly recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Trasti Trine is an amazing place. We came for the outdoor adventures, and we were not disappointed. However, we were stunned by the amazing culinary experience. We chose a fine dining option, it said 3 courses, but we lost count on the number of dishes brought out . Each dish was wonderfully paired with a different wine. It was really one of our favorite dining experiences we have ever had. After dinner, we hustled outside to see the Northern Lights in full view right there at the resort. We also did the dogsledding and our instructor was awesome and so good to the kids. We could not recommend this place enough!!!
An authentic place with very high quality cuisine good wine card, a pleasant home environment and endless forests, and incredible huskies but that is another story.. with dogs you can go to the mountains in summer, and go sledding in winter. I will definitely come back
