Avaliação da contribuiçãoIt is my second day in Amritsar and I am enjoying my visit to the city even more. A new friend of mine, who is a local, took us to a 100-year-old dhaba located in the middle of the Amritsar market, where her car could not reach. To reach the place, we had to walk about 1.5 km. The dhaba had a rustic charm of being 100 years old, although the interiors had been renovated and the open kitchen was as big as the seating area. We found a spot in the corner and perused the menu, but then decided to go with our friend's recommendation. We ordered 4 lacche parathe, dal makhani, and Kadhai paneer (which was just okay). The dishes were served quickly, within 10 minutes. The laccha paratha looked amazing and as soon as it was served, we could tell it was infused with butter. The paratha was delicious and the dal makhani was out of this world - a taste that I will never forget. The dal makhani had a generous amount of ghee and the tadka added to its amazing flavor. We ordered another plate. Even as I write this, I can still taste the delicious dal makhani. I would travel just to have it again. No meal is complete without dessert, so we ordered phirni and it was the perfect ending to a great meal. Served in a clay dish and slightly chilled, it was a delicious way to finish. And all of this was at a very reasonable, if not low, price.
This 105-year-old dhaba in the heart of old Amritsar offers a pure and authentic dining experience. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and perfect for families. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the food quality is outstanding. The portion sizes are generous, making it a highly recommended choice for those visiting the Golden Temple.
I live near this restaurant and visit frequently. It is a fantastic place with delicious traditional food. They offer a variety of desi dishes, like lachha prantha with plenty of desi ghee which is very tasty. The makhani dal with tadka is also a must-try. Despite being busy, they provide good quality and generous portions. I recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
One of my favorite roadside eateries in Amritsar. The food here is the best I've ever tasted, prepared with traditional clarified butter.
I have been to Kesar da dhaba multiple times and every visit is a delight. The dhaba, which is over a century old, serves authentic Punjabi food made with only desi ghee. The taste is unparalleled and truly captures the essence of traditional Punjabi cuisine. As a vegetarian, I can attest that their vegetarian dishes are so delicious that even non-vegetarians would have a hard time complaining. Personally, I recommend trying their dal and Lachha Parantha combo - it is my favorite. A visit to Kesar da dhaba is a must whenever I am in Amritsar, along with a stop at the Shri Harmandir Sahib ji.
