Carlos Mexican - Anchorage

I came here specifically for the margarita flights, and I wasn't disappointed. I also tried their tequila flight, and both were fantastic, especially considering that I usually don't enjoy sweet drinks. My two favorites were definitely the spicy margarita and the mango.

Alright, Jalapeno’s, I’m finally giving you the recognition you deserve. For years, I’ve driven past and noticed how packed the parking lot always was, wondering what made this place so special. Today, I discovered the reason behind all the buzz. The flavors are incredible! The chips are warm and light, and the salsas are loaded with delicious chunks and fresh taste. And the guacamole? Absolutely delightful! I ordered two chili rellenos along with a horchata, and the food was simply delicious. As for the service? Fantastic! The server had me laughing a few times after a long day at work. I also loved the music, the decor, and the vibe from the other patrons. I really wish I had decided to stop in sooner. Next time, I’m definitely going to try the flight of five halibut tacos—it looks like a fun option. Enjoy your visit!

This restaurant is a decent spot for lunch or dinner, although I find it a bit overrated. You start off with one bowl of chips and mild and hot salsa, but after that, you'll need to pay for any additional chips, which isn't ideal for groups larger than two. My fiancé ordered the 'Muy Macho' Platter, which was just okay—his taquito was empty inside, and he wasn't a fan of the enchilada, but he did enjoy the tamale. I thought the beans and rice were excellent. I tried the Carne Asada mini tacos, and they were quite good, served with onions and cilantro. I also ordered salsa verde on the side. The margaritas are served on ice; I didn't notice any blended options, but the drink was well made, though it wasn't rimmed. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're in the mood and nearby.

The food was full of flavor and so delicious! Piping hot and satiating. Large portions. Good quality ingredients. Friendly staff. Comfortable environment. Highly recommend!
