Had a fantastic meal. if the service had been better, I would have given them 5 stars. the plates too long to delete, had to ask me if my water and wine are refilled

So as a Melbournite it's easy to be snobby. We have a great food culture and as such, insane standards. So when I say this place is something special, please believe me. And Yes, Melbourne the competition is on. Friendly completion of course, but so good see. Haven't left a place where I was rolling out the door and so happily satisfied in a while. Every dish a treat and a flavour sensation. Can I come back again tomorrow?

Starting this review before dessert that 's how confident I am of this place deserving a 5/5. Every dish we ordered was perfectly balanced and full of flavour, including mushroom salad, steak tartare, duck and sirloin. The latter two had amazing sticky, sweet, complex sauces and the duck had a red cabbage with the dish that just enhanced every bite. The tartare was their own interpretation normally a sign of a disaster waiting to happen but I was not disappointed one bit. The cruchy elements of this dish just made it one to remember. This place came as a recommendation to me by a fellow foodie as something special and so I pass these words on to you.

The food was amazing! The atmosphere was perfect, staff was very nice. We had the beef carpaccio.. average, Ortiz anchovies.. light and salty not over powering.. perfect. Blue Fin tuna.. so fresh.. delicately refreshing. We also had the croquettes, a little small, it's crunchy and tasty, but worth it. Overall.. definitely coming back for tasting menu!

My husband's entree arrived within 15 mins. I waited 1 ½ hours for my main. I didn't have an entree like my husband so I was pretty hungry. They were full and busy, though there was no explanation or update given to us. We explained to the waitress we would leave, our meals came in 5 mins. Needless to stay I didn't stay for desert, nor was the snapper a filling dish. Most disappointing. There was a table next to us that had finished their entrees and mains before us, though they were part of a pre booked tour as we were told. Didn't help the situation.
