Avaliação da contribuiçãoI went to Mr. D's for trivia night. By the time we got there, only high top tables were available. We had a disabled person with us and need a low table. I walked up to a low table and explained the situation. Turns out the table contained two employees, Leslie and Brian, eating a meal after they were off work. They were happy to let us have the table. That made my day. I didn't want to have to leave because my friend couldn't sit on the high tip chairs. Kudos out to Leslie and Brian. We did order food. Two of us got the $5 build your own burger. That was delicious and made just the way I wanted it. My only small complaint was I didn't think there was enough alcohol in the Mai Tai I order. I couldn't really taste it (but I was too busy with trivia to find the server to complain).
Here's the long and the short of it: Great spot to grab a beer before the races! Onion rings are delish! Nothin too fancy, but gets the job done. Pairs nicely with beer of course. Super ideal for larger groups! They have a ton of long tables. Huge TVs everywhere! So tune into the horse races or catch a game : Affordable! Two thumbs up for that right there. The peak of my experience...THE BEER TOWER. That's right folks, 100 ounces of any domestic beer for $18. Can't. Beat. That. Plus it's just a fun thing to indulge in when you're with your friends! Really wish I would have snapped a photo of this beer tower, especially since Mr. D's seems to be lacking pics! Next time, next time.
Ordered two beers and two sandwiches for lunch. After waiting 50 min. without being served our food, paid for the drinks and walked out. We asked our server several times if our food was ever going to come. Tried to locate the manager to complain but he was in back in the kitchen, cooking I think. I hope he cooks better than he manages.
Pretty solid hometown bar that's open year-round, even when the track is closed (which as of yesterday, is closed for the season). The burgers are so greasy-good, and the wings are solid. They have light beer specials on Fridays, and I've actually gotten a crazy good deal for food on Groupon Now! So keep your eyes open for them The service was pretty good the two times that I've been there. It's not a destination place for me, but it might be a nice place to go to for a few hours to hang out with friends.
Service is very slow ! Food is great , beer is cheap and obviously a great place to wager on the horses ! Don't count on great service though !
