We visited this restaurant on Boxing Day 2021 for lunch with my wife and a close friend. We were greeted by the owner, Alex, and seated at a table near the cozy open fire. We quickly received our drinks and ordered our starters. I enjoyed the Haddock and prawn gratin, which was delicious and flavorful. My companions both loved their deep fried Brie. For the main course, I ordered the Steak and ale pie, which was tasty and the steak was incredibly tender. My wife opted for the Salmon, while our friend chose the slow-cooked belly of pork with excellent crackling. All three meals were delicious, and we had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. If you are in the area, I highly recommend trying a meal here - you won't be disappointed, and the atmosphere is charming.
Whilst staying on the campsite round the corner we decided to pop in for a meal. We hadn't booked but the landlord managed to squeeze us in, with our dog. Friendly, welcoming staff and delicious food. Highly recommend visiting this pub!
We were staying at a nearby campsite and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. It was quiet that evening, but the food was wonderful and the service was attentive. Our meals were served promptly, cooked beautifully, and presented well. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned on our second night, and everything was just as good as the first night. We are hoping to come back later this year.
The food at this restaurant was incredibly fresh and delicious. It offers a great selection of simple yet tasty English dishes. Booking a table was easy and we noticed that they allow dogs, which is a plus for pet owners. The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk from the campsite.
