Avaliação da contribuiçãoHaving been a regular patron for a year and Ravi g about the Aux Bar in past reviews, I am disappointed that it seems to be slipping. The roast beef po boy is much less generous and I’m not even sure if fried onions are still being added on the sandwich. The onion soup which has been the best in town tends to be too salty and the cheese not always browned on top. Here’s hoping Stephen Goff recalibrated back to his old standards. The waiter was pleasant but food did not arrive timely for all diners and orders were confused.
It is a fun and funky place, with food that was fairly good. However, their shortcomings outweighed that. Service was snitty and unprofessional. We ordered two entrees that came out separately. When we questioned why, they said they were doing it tapas style. Except, they do not mention they are a tapas restaurant anywhere on the website or menu. Their explanation was that they had small items on the menu, so it was tapas style. When the second entree did come out, the steak ordered medium well was medium rare. When we mentioned that, the response was again snotty. The manager actually said that since they had red lights in the place, they couldn't tell the difference in the meat doneness. Mistakes happen, so a polite apology would have been acceptable and we would have been fine. But, a series of ridiculous excuses and surly attitudes make this a place to which we will not return and would never recommend.
The catfish was outstanding. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Waitress was great even though they were short staffed. Food and drinks came out quickly. I had the catfish and grits which was delicious but we were not totally happy with steak frites. We reviewed the menu before going due to my fiancé having some food restrictions to find that the menu was different from the one posted which limited what we could order. Still a really cool spot for a quick bite
My first experience at this restaurant was very pleasant! The atmosphere is cool with a unique blend of retro and artsy vibes. The hostess was friendly and courteous, and our server, Phillip, was probably the best I've ever had! He was super friendly, attentive, and never hovering. The menu is diverse, and both of our entrees (steak frites and huh over kartoffeln kartoffeln) were delicious and reasonably priced. The portion sizes were generous compared to other restaurants in the city. The bar is on the smaller side, but they have a full selection and I was impressed by their craft beer choices on tap. We will definitely be returning.
