One of our favorite breweries in Athens now! We stopped while doing the Athens beer trail. We will definitely be back.
I've been to alot of Breweries over the years. If I was forced to choose only one, it would be Normaltown Brewing. Amazing new IPA. I call it Cumulus Clous IPA due to its fluffy creamy feel. Amazing.
Really good beer. It FEELS like Athens with its tucked away, almost hidden location, and a friendly, come have a beer with us kind of vibe. We 've met two of the owners, Scott and Eric--both super guys.
Was finally able to stop in at Normaltown Brewing on our way back from an excursion up to the the North Georgia mountains. I grew up in Athens and, in fact, worked for a couple summers and winter break at a moving company that was located not too far from where this brewery is. It 's not really Normaltown, but close enough. Anyway, this is truly what one would term a nano brewery but its beers are anything but tiny. Only five on tap when we stopped in, we were able to get a flight of all five. They were all worthy beers, but was particularly impressed with their New England Hazy, 2100 Fathoms, and their milk stout, Osiris Reborn. The latter is, IMO, world class. While this is undoubtedly the smallest brewery I 've been to, it was well worth stopping by. If you do the Athens brewery tour, don 't miss out on this one!
