Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe food was okay. The dark meat chicken plate was too greasy it made my husband sick. And the thighs were so small. I asked the manager if I could get a decent size piece of chicken and she said all the pieces are small it’s the distributor. Then they need to order from somewhere else. My husband said he’s had better chicken from Popeyes. The max and cheese was good. Outside of the food the whole dining experience was horrible. We came in on a Monday, put our name down and they said the wait would be 45 minutes. We come back the hostess says our table IS ready but she can’t seat us for 45 minutes because the system went down. I said so we have to wait another hour and she said yes. No apology or anything, just yes.We wait around then come back in about half an hour and ask if the system is back up and the woman says yes, (no text to say they’re ready we just happened to come back early) but now she said we have to wait for them to clean off the table. We sit inside and wait about 15 minutes before we were seated. We order finally, it took about another 15 minutes before they brought out water. The table they sat us at was too small for our party and when I asked to move the hostess gave me a hard time. Our waiter did end up letting us move to a larger table but we had to wait at least 15 minutes. After ordering out food we waited about half and hour then the waiter comes to tell us the food will be out shortly. Another 10 minutes or so later, then the waiter comes back to tell us that they ran out of the sweet potato side. Keep in mind it’s 3pm on a Monday. I asked to get the peach cobbler dessert but he said no, I asked if they could make an exception because the price difference is $3 and we had a number of problems already. He said he wasn’t aware of any other issues and when my mother and I explained the issues he said they had nothing to do with him and that they weren’t his fault. Eventually the manager came out to say the same thing. The manager was rude, they were unapologetic about the wait as well as running out of what we ordered and waited until they started bringing out the rest of the party’s plates to tell my husband and I they ran out of the side we ordered. The whole experience was horrible and my family had got together because my sister was in town, she really wanted to go to Old Lady Gang and my sister apologized about the experience we had more than any of the staff.
Just had lunch at Old Lady Gang and I’m shocked at some of these reviews. My fried chicken French toast was phenomenal. Some of the best I’ve had in a while! Their deviled eggs were so good too! Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. And the music was great! I was pretty much singing to every song while eating. I’ll definitely be going back.
I enjoy visiting black owned restaurants so coming here was exciting to me. The restaurant was a little crowded for my taste. Tables are very close it seems the waiters have trouble getting thru here and there. It took forever for the drinks to come, i ordered the fried deviled eggs for an appetizer (which I wasn’t a big fan of) that came out with the entrees which I felt was awful timing. All in all it was def an experience and I’d invite anyone to go and see for themselves ? Also gratuity is included in your tab so be mindful not to overtip if you’re not paying attention
Just got back from the ATL and one of my main objectives was to visit Todd and Kandi Burris restaurant Old Lady Gang on Peters St close to the airport.Let me just say I had tried to call all week before to see if they take reservations but no one ever answered the phone. Finally found on their website in small print that they do not.We got off the plane which was 2 hours late and went straight there in hopeing we could get in before closing since I've heard about the lines. Since it was after 5 there was only 4 people outside waiting all in the same group. We went inside too add our names to the list and wait inside since no one else was inside waiting. We were informed that there was no inside waiting. Although their was a long cushion near the windows and it was still quite warm out side. We were advised our wait would be 30 minutes or less. After 45 minutes in the car we walked back to be told if would be 10 more minutes. Finally getting in, I was a little disappointed in the decor and furniture. The pictures were nice but the tables and chairs needed updating. They were rinky dink, old looking like something from a yard sale. The music was so loud I had to step out side to take a call. The waitress was pleasant, but started to get a little annoyed whenever she checked back and we actually needed something such as extra napkins or ketchup. After a while when we asked for another take out container and bags she just never returned so we had to get them ourselves.I ordered rib tips, green beans and smothered cabbage. The rib tips and green beans were great The cabbage was too spicy with pepper. The rest of my party ordered fish, with sweet potato souffle and crab cakesAll of the food was great. I did like all of the food was served in different containers since I'm one which do not like my food to touch. I also like that the portions are fairly large. No complaints with the food, but more money needed to be put into the table and chairs. I did enjoy looking at the family pic on the wall.
Went for lunch, but the wait turned into dinner time. While perusing the menu getting taste buds ready, only to learn when time to order, the dishes desired were out? Now if fish and yams are out on Monday, can 't imagine what the rest of the week could be like? Reading the other reviews, I would have to say the experience was pretty comparable to other less than impressed reviews. We did not want to be on the negative band wagon, but just would like to see you tighten up your game. If you are out of food, just have a menu that day that speaks to what you do have. So cliche to say, Black own establishments always out of _____? (Fill in the blank). However, due to status of the Owner, we expect better. Visiting from California, with excitement to support and experience the OLG, it 's insulting to feel dis-satisfied. Please get professional wait staff, a request for napkins and utensils after food is served should not be a norm! While some staff stood or sat around on their cell phones, the bathroom needed toliet paper. Admittedly our server Q shared we were his last customers for the day. On a positive note He did his best adjusting our orders, making suggestions and adding substitutions. The responsibility of your reputation should not be left in the hands of your employees to use their personalities to smooth over bad business practices. Word of mouth is a business deal breaker. I encouraged the company I dined with to give space for knowing we don 't have to complain to our server about all he forgot or that was possibly mis-communicated, but not return to this establishment as Atlanta has plenty of places to take in. So based on other reviews, we 'll skip Blaze this time. Lastly, quality over quantity, maybe key in getting a handle on providing better service. 18% gratuity and other upcharges speaks of greed. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED!
