Thatcher's - Auburn

I absolutely love the nachos; they're the best I've had anywhere! Everything I've tried on the menu has been fantastic. The bartenders are really friendly, and the atmosphere feels just like "Cheers"—everyone knows your name!

This restaurant deserves less than one star. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was spoiled; it was sour and tasted awful, so we sent it back to the kitchen. We were informed that the dish was hot from the oven, but it arrived lukewarm instead. They acknowledged that it was bad and didn’t charge us for it, but made no other accommodations. The fiesta salad wasn’t much better—the lettuce was gritty and seemed to have dirt that hadn’t been washed off.

My friends and I recently visited this restaurant, and as you may know, there is a new owner now. The previous owner, who also owns Gridiron Restaurant and Sports Pub, did an excellent job ensuring that the cheese fries and other dishes were cooked properly. Unfortunately, the new owner serves the cheese fries with brown cheese, which is quite disappointing. I would recommend going to Gridiron for better food, prices, and service.

I'm going here now and then always, and I'm LIEBE IT. It is cozy and the perfect place if you have an introvert like me and hate large crowded restaurants. The people who work here are nice and I always make sure to give them a good tip. As a rule, I order her squirting, chili and rum and coke:

That's the best I had in over 20 years. Service above par. Clean and social distance observed. It's worth the ride.
