This place is a must! A beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. I wasn't sure what to expect from this fusion restaurant, but it was a great experience. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful when we tried to order. My food partner said this was the best brisket he ever had in his life... And that says a lot. Unfortunately, I couldn't have it because it had almonds.
Excellent food and caring service. The king salmon was a standout, as were the corn ribs. Chili Cheese Takoyaki is great, just a bit heavy for a hot day. All in all, a great place.
Unique fusion cuisine, Tex-Mex with Japanese style representation, the divide is probably 80/20. The taste was overwhelmingly dominated by Tex-Mex flavors while utilizing many of the Japanese ingredients such as Edamame, Tacoyaki, Taiyaki, Bento Box and etc. We ordered Omakase with a full line up of items from small plates of appetizers to legitimately stomach-filling bento box moist briskets (Texas BBQ style). It always takes courage to fuse two distinctive cuisines and satisfy both sides. Kemuri Tatsu-ya certainly took a unique approach to focus on the taste in Tex-Mex, but presented with Japanese ingredients. Perhaps due to my inherent biases of how “sashimi, tacoyaki, or taiyaki” were supposed to taste like, the dishes served were beyond my spectrum on the tasting scale. They were delicious in its own way but I was not blown away by it. Service was courteous and friendly, food quantity was more than enough to fulfill any hungry stomach. Final verdict: an interesting place to try Tex-Mex fusion with decent food.
Flavor: A Service: A Cocktail: B Solo Ess: C What an Experience! Unique aromas on each row. Even as a non-der-at most-adventur-eater I loved everything. Take some recommendations from the server and get a slice of plate to share your table. We finished with the Brisket Bento box and made many tacos, but could not finish everything!
