Here's a table of host, a restaurant-book .... where the mind fights him for the pleasure of the eyes. Thousands of books, a smiling welcome, ideas, a conversation in which everyone can bring their opinion, knowledge about the region and subtle proposals for visits!Côté restauration, terroir, inventivité et gourmandise ... organic wines of pretty owners, like the pretty wines of Saint-Bris, jh and g goisot ...
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to have lunch in a French farmhouse, this is the place for you. The best kind of home cooking is served with warmth and flair, surrounded by the shelves of enticing second-hand books also on sale. All the food was super-fresh and locally sourced. We were served asparagus soup with dark rustic bread, followed by a dish of slow-cooked port shoulder in a creamy sauce with morelle mushrooms. The vegetables were especially good: new season's potatoes, roasted to a nutty golden brown; a gratin of chard; Beluga lentils and spelt. For dessert there were fresh strawberries served with what can only be described as home-made condensed milk: unpasteurised local milk, boiled with sugar to create a sweet, gooey cream. This is a totally original place, a meal not to be forgotten. It's also excellent value: around a hundred euros for four people to have three courses, plus drinks and coffee.Reserve ahead, as the opening hours - like the place itself - are idiosyncratic.
In a time where in francs, one after the other restaurant closes, a new restaurant came to a new restaurant in Avallon. A former lawyer threw her life around. In a cosy living room ambiance there's a large table of d'hôtes that you're very carefully cooked food. Fresh products, lots of bio and from the immediate area. a three-way menu for 15 euros. And Saturday morning, an extensive brunch for 8 euros, coffee, including tea. That's really not money for what you get for this. A rapist!
A unique table of 12 people, books, a unique menu and organic, local, tasty and balanced cuisine. a very nice place where it makes good food. and read!
