On the menu it is written Pommes Frites, which I also when they are made from fresh potatoes. It wasn't the case here. The carving was too thick and therefore not tender with the bread crust in the sauce. No mineral water bottle greater than 0,25l. If you're thirsty, should you order three of them? Larger bottles for mineral water were not written on the menu. Only cash that is uncomfortable
Guest house and pub in the neighborhood about 10 minutes walk from the shopping center. Local and tourists alike. Good Snitzel and Pommes. Friendly hosts and good local beer on tap.
My wife and I ate here one night while we were moving house to Bacharach. The service was fast and friendly, the meat was perfectly cooked (I had the Sauerbraten, my wife had the Deer Goulash, the better of the two dishes I'm sorry to say! as were the accompanying side dishes, and the sauces for both dishes was good. The price is one of the best in Bacharach and as far as value for money, I would say this place is in the top 2.
Best meal in Bacharach. We liked it so well we went back for our last meal in town before leaving. Casual relaxed atmosphere. Up the hill from town. Easy walk on left by church. Food was exceptional and large portions. We split a meal for two and still had leftovers. Nice bottle of reisling for 9€. Salads were exceptional. Meat dishes perfectly prepared. Spatzle was tender and flavorful. Waitress friendly and helpful. A meal to remember twice. Second time just as good. Both times we ate outside. There is seating both inside and out. Mostly locals when we were there each time. Our meal for two arrived in a large skillet. 2 small rib eyes, roasted chicken, pork, and bratwurst. Spatzle and sauted vegetables. All perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. A true find.
We ordered cordon bleu. When we got our meal we didn't have a clue what meat it was. Whatever it was, it was deep fried to a dark brown and it was so tough you could barely cut it with a knife. Even though it was closest to our hotel we never ate there again.
