The food is pretty good but fairly limited beyond the usual brekky eggs selection. Staff friendly and service relatively quick. Lover rated the coffee highly nice and hot. Had run out of baguettes and panini by 1.30 on a week day which was a bit odd but it was bustlingly busy, particularly for coffee.
Faced with a choice of sitting outside or inside with large windows onto the sunshine, we took the Ballarat option inside. A waitress brought us water and took coffee orders while we looked through the menu. We selected fruit toast and a grilled mushroom pannini. The toast was well priced and came with spreadable butter and a well made jam. The Pannini was grilled mushrooms, with aioli, goat's cheese, rocket, and tomato. It was delicious, but dripped with the aioli. It did get noisy after a while with loud conversations and a dog barking at the next table. The toilets are not obvious to the view, but are clean.
We dropped in for breakfast and even though we didn't have a reservation, they seated us straight away and then when a better table came up, they asked us if we would like to move which we did. The food was so delicious I had the breakfast board, the poached egg was cooked perfectly and the honey yoghurt with fruit was divine. The coffee was also great hot and tasty. The staff were very friendly too :
This is what I want in a cafe, friendly staff, great coffee and amazing food. We had a late lunch day 1, so at the end of a busy weekend for the staff, and went back for breakfast day 2 both times the food was outstanding and the staff friendly and coffee spot on. My partner said her iced coffee was the best ever!
Great coffee, great service and an amazing meal! Tucked away out of town this place is an absolute gem. Really thoughtful menu with lots of options and options to swap or add
