M2 Barbecue - Bangor Township

Friends came from out of town so we took them here. First time here. Walked in on Saturday at dinner and we were the only ones in at the time. Some came later. Tried to find seating without speakers blaring above us. We moved three times before settling on a location where we could hold a conversation. Thought maybe they would turn it down a bit but nothing was said. The brisket plate, pulled pork bowl, brisket bowl, turkey bowl were ordered. My friend said his brisket was dry as was my brisket bowl. The ladies were not impressed as they stated their food was also dry. Thought the staff could use some training. They were pleasant and did try and thanked us for coming, but lacked waitstaff polish that the surrounding restaurants seem to have. Quite disappointed in the food and lack of professionalism. Smoking meat is an art. If they have a knowledgeable chef/cook then they are not keeping their meats moist. Almost like they are keeping them uncovered in a warm oven that is drying the meat out. If this is the norm then I don’t see them around in two years.

A friend and I were in this evening and had a fantastic experience. Gabby, our server was awesome. The food was absolutely amazing. Both our brisket and turkey was excellent, but those tater tots are to die for. We both left happy and will be back soon.

St Paddy Parade day every other place was packed M2 was not so we went in for a quick lunch. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, wife and daughter ordered the Loaded Tots and wings. First my order: pulled pork was really dry, seemed like it had been either over cooked or left over from a previous day and just reheated, the side of slaw was the best thing on my plate. Loaded Tots: looked good, but waaaaaaay to much cheese. Wings: way too much seasoning, almost like they used the seasoning as a breading there was so much. Unfortunately we didn't care for our meals, in all with drink (draft beer, draft mix drink, soda) and a tip our bill was $60! Always wanted to try M2, don't need to try it again.

The food was okay, but we didn’t get all of what we ordered some of our sides were missing, our server Jesse took forever to bring me silverware and I was force to eat what I could with my fingers, then to top it all off- I only left a $10 tipBut when I reviewed my cc transactions they added $20 and that Is STEALING from your Customers! How Dishonest! I would have Been happy to have left more but we never received all our food!! And he never came to check on us!

Love the loaded tator tots, they are so delicious. Wish they offered more like the original molasses though. I love the traverse city bbq and they didn't have that, or the meals for 2. But it was so delicious that it more than made up for what we were used to having. And the service is friendly and helpful.
