Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Eating was good, but. I bought a two-part white pickup order in this restaurant (germantown pkwy.) I checked my bank statement today and apparently the young white lady in register gave herself a tipp with the reception I signed. unacceptable, I wish I didn't throw away my quitting, which probably had her name. to the manager I have placed this order on 1st Friday afternoon at 2:30. my name is laura.

Found this place because of its high star review on yelp, plus it's conveniently close to my hotel near the Ikea. The breading on the bone in chicken and the tenders is really good it is crispy and has a slight spiciness. I think there's only one level of heat (so it's not quite like Nashville hot chicken) but it's still really good. My coworker liked it too. I'd recommend the Mac and cheese too.

Friday night at 7pm wasn't a good experience. The wait was over 40 minutes and there was only one person on the list in front of me and they left. The lobby was congested and full with no organization or anyone trying to manage the folks waiting for a table or waiting on to go orders. The problem is they wait to bus 7-8 tables (they only have 12 or so tables total) at a time then tell everyone to find a table. Then one person goes around and take everyone's order at each table and turns in all the orders to the kitchen at the same time, just creating one bottleneck after another. The waitress was sweet and caring and of course the food is normally good. I'll review the food later, this review is strictly on the management of the store and customer experience.

Came here on Monday around 2 pm and sat down right away. It was about 70% capacity Order all dark combos and some chicken tenders and sides Food took about 40 minutes to come , not sure if our order was lost. The thighs were moist , seasoning compared to downtown Gus were lacking . Crunch was there , however Defientely tasted different from yesterday's visit to Gus's in downtown Memphis . Maybe It was because of the high turnover at downtown which makes the oil tastes different But if you are nearby worth a try, the servers were very friendly.

This chicken is awesome. The macaroni and cheese is good as well. Fried okra is great as well. We had a party of 7 so there was about a 15 minute wait on a table. Waitress was very attentive. We never had an empty glass. Great overall experience !
