We often come in on a Friday and as usual had a very pleasant meal. The service was excellent.

Beautiful Sunday roast . Lots of fresh vegetables and very tasty flavours . Not overcrowded or to noisy so very cosy .

The service is excellent, the building is beautiful, and the food is fantastic. Perfect for dining with friends.

Lovely evening but the restaurant was very noisy and on occasions we couldn’t hear each other

We have visited this restaurant several times as it is very close to our home. Each time we dine here, we encounter a different set of staff. Gary, the owner, is always very helpful, but the rest of the staff seem less accommodating. We recently received an email stating that kids eat free at Portsmouth Arms on a specific day. However, when it came time to pay, we were told that the vouchers were not being accepted because the head office had not informed the pub. Despite our protests, the manager initially refused to honor the offer. After some persuasion, Gary intervened and agreed to honor the deal. Unfortunately, this experience was not pleasant and has made us reconsider returning to the pub. Despite its close proximity to our home, the rude behavior of the staff and consistent issues with food and billing over the past year have left us disappointed. It seems that Gary needs to spend more time training his staff to prevent such occurrences. Overall, this was not a good experience.
