Avaliação da contribuiçãoMy roommates and I at SVSU are accustomed to being surrounded by local bakeries and have really missed it since coming to college. So we occasionally visit Elaine's for doughnuts and have really enjoyed them. Some of my personal favorites are the Fertile Kieselsteine, the Erzea, and the Crawl. They never last long in our dorm room and I haven't had a bad one yet. I have seen a lot of complaints about the quality, but I just want to remind everyone that the owners, who we have always seen following the recipe and providing good service, are not to blame if someone doesn't like the doughnuts. It's also not fair to criticize the doughnuts for being cold. Someone also mentioned that the prices were expensive, but as college students, we can afford to treat ourselves every now and then and I have always found the prices to be fair. We also tried the cookies and weren't huge fans, but we keep coming back for the doughnuts, so that says it all.
Elaine's Bake Shop is one of several good bakeries in Bay City, with a prime location right on Euclid Avenue. As soon as you walk in, the delicious smell of freshly baked goods fills the air, and there are plenty of pre-made items ready for purchase. The counter is filled with a variety of donuts, cookies, and other baked treats. My personal favorite is their old-fashioned sour cream donut, which I always make sure to get. The only downside I've experienced after multiple visits is the service. The staff behind the counter can be a bit unfriendly and not very helpful or informative. A friendly and knowledgeable staff can really enhance the overall experience. If I ask about a particular item, I would expect more than a one-word answer.
