Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe ended here after a stroll trought the arround the 'grand Bayonne'. We were lucky because we enjoyed a pleasant meal. Specially good were the confited cannard and the dessert, the gateu basque, simply delicious.
Service was very kind and you can feel that it is the family run restaurant, which makes the atmosphere modest but very special. The food was excellent. The portion of appetizer "Chipirons a la plancha" was amazingly big and my girlfriend had it as a main dish. The special thing about this place is that you can feel and taste that the food is "homemade" prepared. Moreover, magnificent chocolate fondue made this dinner in Bayonne unforgettable.
Ate here back in April & surprised about the poor rating of one of the reviewers. That must have been a bad day as when i ate there i was very happy with the food, service and ambience. The calamari where the best i've had anywhere. A very pleasant meal.
The setting is good as it's by the river but the cooking is awful. I ordered crevettes and salad. The crevettes were insipid and the salad was so tired, it was nearly dead. Then I asked for paella which was some indefinable white fish surrounded by a few clams, some were not even opened. The rice was dry and disgusting. A horrible experience. Oh and the food took nearly an hour to arrive.
