Place authentic a little old but pleasant to drink after market
We were staying in a hotel across the Place Gambetta and arrived early so took a stroll and decided to have a drink outside in the sunshine of Cafe le Riche. The owner was so polite and served our drinks. He spent time talking to us and was so welcoming. The food being served looked very good so after checking into our hotel, we chose to come back after visiting the old town. We ordered glasses of rose and cheese salad and sausage from the specials menu. Both dishes had been prepared with care and were tasty. We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting outside and enjoying the quiet atmosphere. It was a truly great find, with great food, attentive service and, when we asked for the bill, couldn’t believe what great value for money. The cafe was huge inside and had sport showing on the TVs. The friendly owner did everything from preparing food and serving the drinks and always had a smile. Such a wonderful find.
Stayed for 2weeks in Bergerac. My friend Janet and i called into this bar nearly everyday. The owner was fantastic..taught me some French. His sausages with creamy mushroom sauce were excellent. Loved the place..true French..not touristy. A must visit when in Bergerac
