Confiserie Melanie Berlin

The specialties are cookies and chocolates and cakes. From the café you can make all the goodies. An ideal place to buy a small sweet gift for someone, to drink a good coffee or to be Chokoholic. Since they produce high-quality products, it is not surprising that they have won national awards.

In a side street from Savignyplatz, this quite large café is a mixture of a chocolate shop (also sold cookies), coffee shop and general meeting room. The chocolates are handmade and delicious. There is a special coffee (big selection... of special types) and 2 Pralines (you get to choose), which is just the right thing for the afternoon kick.

We discovered the Confiserie Melanie during the walk around the magnificent tree lined are from Charlottenburg. We just had breakfast, so was not really in the mood for another coffee, but the warm welcoming branch moved us into. The gentleman on the counter was so warm and friendly that we decided to order two cappuccinos. When he told us that we could choose two homemade chocolates, our eyes grew broader than we almost pressed our noses on the counter intensively the two sweets that would accompany our drinks. I also have the beautiful homemade cakes in the Theke eying, but for my drink and chocolate food. I chose Orange Mustard (Orange Mustard) and Bailey's, my husband some chocolate ball of kindness. I am not sure which coffee beans they use, but the cappuccino was excellent – very mild, robust and not bitter. Since the sun was brightly sung in the Confiserie Melanie Berlin, we sat outside to enjoy our chocolate delights and had a short chat with Sabine Dubenkropp and her husband. Come to find out Sabine is the German World Chocolate Champion. She won best chocolate showpiece and best Cake of the Day! Sabine will present Germany at the Salon du Chocolat in Paris in October in The World Chocolate Masters. Bonne Chance Sabine!
