Avaliação da contribuiçãoMy husband and I had lunch here today. Overall, our meals were very good, with the exception of the coleslaw. The coleslaw was really not good at all. When I mentioned this to our server, instead of offering a replacement, she brought more dressing. I thought this was a tacky way of trying to fix an unpleasant part of our meal. Too bad, because the rest of our lunch was great. It would have been nice, if I had been offered a small salad or even some tomato slices to replace the crappy coleslaw.
I don't often write reviews but this is a must stop. There are not enough stars to rate this restaurant and I don't say this lightly. After one visit we were joking about moving closer. Phenomenal food service and atmosphere. Great job guys my compliments to you all.
I've been going to the Union Street since it was on Union Street... I'm mystified by the negative reviews. Never had a bad meal there ever, and today the food and service was excellent as always. You'd have a tough time finding fish and chips done any better anywhere. Hand cut fries, flakey, moist fish in batter so crisp you could hear it. I've had other items over the years, all excellent.
The service was a little slow but it was a busy time. The place was also packed. Generally everyone else seemed to enjoy their food and the portions seem decent enough. The Berwick Chicken Bowl was a bit of a surprise and I certainly didn’t expect it to be as spicy as it was. I like spice but something was on fire. Next time I’ll just go with the fish and chips.
This was our first visit to the Union Street restaurant. I enjoyed the decor and it was a clean and pleasant place. Covid19 protocols were in place. Our server was pleasant and professional ... but not as prompt as I would have liked. I had the roasted beet salad, which I really enjoyed. It was tasty and huge. My husband had the wicked fries which were a disappointment ... kind of a globby mess. However, we did enjoy our visit and would probably go back, knowing what to get and what to avoid.
