Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis review concerns McGill's Steakhouse only. Our party of seven dined here on Sunday, June 26, 2022 around 8:00 p.m. We had just come from Big Sky where an earlier restaurant had given our reservation to another party, so we were feeling disappointed and hungry. We had McGill's address, and our GPS led us to 320 Guest Ranch. However, once on the ranch's sprawling grounds we spent the next ten minutes driving around looking for McGill's, but all signage referred to 320 Guest. We asked some people strolling on the grounds, but nobody had heard of McGill's. On a hunch, we walked into a large building that looked like it might be a restaurant, and sure enough: we'd found McGill's. We were greeted with a smile and our party was seated promptly and menus handed out. Then the mishaps began: One of us ordered the Homestead Carrots, but the waitperson advised us the kitchen was out of carrots. Others wanted the Wilson's Chicken Sandwich, but the waitperson advised us the kitchen was out of chicken. We ended up ordering several Brask Burgers, Luke's Bacon Jam Grilled Cheeses, Tomato Bisques, and a salad. When the salad was brought out, it was topped with shaved carrots. Carrots? Maybe the only carrots in the kitchen were for salads; the waitperson had no comment on the irony. When the rest of our meals were delivered, the waitperson mistakenly handed a grilled cheese to one of us who had ordered a burger. She apologized, saying she'd go get the burger and went back to the kitchen taking the grilled cheese with her. All of us had our meals now except for one. We waited for what seemed like an eternity before she came back out of the kitchen and apologized again, this time saying that there was no burger to be had because she thought the order had been for a grilled cheese. At this point the unlucky member of our party volunteered to take the grilled cheese now instead of waiting even longer for the burger. The waitperson went back to the kitchen and this time, thankfuly, came right back out with the grilled cheese again. Alas, follow-up service was dismal--we were ignored--obliging us to aggressively flag down our waitperson for beverage and water refills. The restaurant could have helped make things right by not charging for the unordered grilled cheese, but no such credit was offered. As for the food itself, I had a Brask Burger and tomato bisque. The burger was decent, the tomato bisque thick and tasty. The fries that came with the burger were nothing special and the serving size rather paltry; a pickle spear would have been nice.
Love the 360 ranch, convenience to both Big Sky and Yellowstone. Lots of lodging choices, but be aware the riverfront cabins are great but you can hear traffic from the very busy road across the river. Dinner are the restaurant was good but overpriced. The included breakfast was excellent! The ranches trail rides are fun and the scenery beautiful. Laundry on premises is a nice touch and needed with dirty muddy hiking and riding clothes after a day of activities. Overall a wonderful few days.
Heard the reviews and was excited to sample all of the wild game. Unfortunately, the meal preparation was overly ambitious and put a damper on the meal especially at the prices charged.. We ordered the 320 game and mushrooms for an app which was fantastic and rich. Also ordered the special fries which were ok, nothing special. The beet salad was huge and good. Side salads were heavily dressed and soaking in dressing. We ordered 2 beef rib risottos which were not good. One had way too much fat on it and little meat. The other was overdone like jerky. The risotto was not the best. The chicken dish was way over cooked and very dry. The elk on bone steaks had great meat but was very salty so it was hard to taste the flavor of the meat. We skipped dessert. The server was nice but not trained well which we get being in a rural area, but again at these prices? Maybe it was an off night because the other reviews were good? Just our experience.
Loved 320 Ranch, we stayed in a mountain side cabin in late August of this year. The cabins are cozy and well appointed with free Wi-Fi and the beds are so comfortable. Free breakfast for the guest and it was great food. We had dinner at McGill's, I had the NY Strip and fries and hands down the best meal that I had on the trip. If you are going to Yellowstone this is a great jumping off spot. Super close to the West Yellowstone gate so very easy to get through the gate in the early morning before the traffic backs up. It would actually be less expensive to use 320 Ranch as your lodging versus staying in the park. If you are fishing the rivers in and around West Yellowstone this would be a perfect base of operation. I didn't get to ride with the 320 Ranch team, but that is definitely a bucket list item for next time. If you want to wake up and feel like you are in Montana, this is the place for you. Accommodations and the services are great, and the people at the ranch are so nice.
We had such an amazing experience here. Absolutely beautiful. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. There is fishing and hiking on the premises plus horseback riding. They have lots of extra little things like a campfire in the evenings and their complimentary breakfast spread is not to be missed.
