Avaliação da contribuiçãoHarry was our waiter he was very professional and helpful. The food and wine were fab It was lovely evening, would recommend it.
We had a fantastic dining experience at this wonderful restaurant. The meal was exceptional and the pricing was very reasonable. Special thanks to Jaq N and Haaris M for taking care of us and ensuring all our needs were met.
It’s appropriate that the College of Food is located in Birmingham city centre where there are more Michelin starred restaurants than any other city outside London. Last night’s Tasting Evening could easily sit alongside them. Each course was a delight to the eye. and an even greater delight to the palate. Wine pairings were as imaginative and unusual as they were excellent. The Georgian wine, Kakhurl Noö with the beautiful Sole, Fennel and Orange was an inspired choice. I feel guilty about picking a favourite course because each had It’s own unique flavour combination. During our post dinner discussion/argument when we tried to decide the winning dish and wine pairing, each course had its own champion. Finally, I had to give up trying to separate the Pea and Ham Snack with the Dry Martini Spritz and the Dark Chocolate Desert with Banyuls Rimage (my first ever red desert wine! . Winning flavour combinations with depth and presentation, worthy of any of the Michelin star restaurants in our city. After the snack we started with Celeriac, King Oyster, and Onion, followed by a fish course of Sole, Fennel and Orange, and a main of Beef, Potato and Madeira. All were excellent as were their wine pairings. I would like to see this Tasting Evening twice a year in February and late August or maybe early September. Finally, I must comment on the Front of House team who delivered service levels and introductions to each dish and wine pairing worthy of seasoned professionals. Now I know why our city, Birmingham and the surrounding area, has so many Mitchelin starred restaurants.
We consider ourselves fortunate to be regular patrons at the UCB Restaurant. Today, on 7/2, we had the most enjoyable meal of our many visits this academic year. The food is exceptional and we appreciate watching the students grow in confidence from being initially nervous in their new surroundings to confidently showcasing their skills within a few months. Additionally, we admire the way the supervisory staff interacts with both students and diners, creating a truly delightful dining experience. The staff is delightful, the food is fantastic, and the level of service is exceptional for a training restaurant. We cannot find any faults and we adore every aspect of it.
The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant are fantastic. While the menu options are excellent, there is a noticeable lack of vegetables. This is a concern for me in terms of health, enjoyment, and a well-balanced meal, and it is the only thing that prevented me from giving it a 5-star rating. Nonetheless, BCC, well done overall.
