I felt mentally abused to say that the manager came to me and my friend and harassed us about leaving because we did not disturb the work on our computer for them or someone else! I have come here for months; my friends and family are included, I don't see myself or my friends come back here after we've been treated!
Good coffee, in a cozy atmosphere, for a great price. Plus, you can get food from the Maple Kitchen. What more could you want?! Love the fireplace. I got a yummy chai latte for $4.75.
Located inside the same building as the theater. I love that they offer lavender as a flavor. Got the chai tea with lavender, which was delicious and flavor was mild and not over powering. A bit pricey but worth it alone for the lavender.
Had an espresso and a coffee. Both were good. Thanks
I've had two disappointing visits lately at the Maple. It seems the focus on quality and service has gone downhill compared to a few years ago. There was only one barista on duty and it was decently busy on a Saturday around lunchtime. My pour over (a Colombia) took almost fifteen minutes for the female barista to make on her own, in between other orders for other customers. Which included her going out of order, meaning she was helping other customers and grabbing their orders before mine was done/finished. The pour over itself was decent, but in the midst of her harriedness, I saw she was making mistakes making the pour over (she let the grounds go completely dry, then filled it up again) and I can't say what my pour over would have tasted like had she made it to higher standards. That's the quality I had come to expect and was disappointed. I also was disappointed with her response to my complaint. She did offer to remake my drink after I called her out on her method (I refused, I was already running late for an appt) but she acted like there's nothing she could do about the long wait. Not even acknowledge that the customer is right? That waiting for a pour over should take 5 minutes at best? That she went out of order, should have finished my pour over, so I would not have had to have waited so long? It would be nice to see employees give a damn more at the Maple and this coffee counter. They used to. Even my quad latte, that I ordered this week as well, made by the same employee, was subpar. The crema should be crusty orange on a quad latte with that much espresso in it and should have a very strong coffee taste. It was weak. The milk texture and temperature was not what one would come to expect coming from a place serving specialty coffee. It lacked body, and was too hot. Please up your game guys. Thanks. And throw in a free cookie for the inconvenience.
