Meals at Jackson's - Boroondara

Had dinner at Farol Macau. We tried the Portuguese chicken on rice and spaghetti bolognese. The Portuguese chicken was rich and the chicken was tender. The cheese on the spaghetti was slightly burnt in some areas, but overall a good dish. For dessert, we enjoyed the steamed egg custard, warmed just right and not too sweet. The Japanese cheesecake was also a standout. Would definitely return for a slice of that cake! Check out their Instagram @flabnbone_food.

I visited this restaurant for afternoon tea and ordered a satay beef vermicelli, an almond drink, and a hot egg custard pudding. The total cost was $13, which was great value for the quality of the food. The satay beef was marinated perfectly with a flavorful sauce, the egg custard pudding had a rich egg flavor, and the almond drink was fragrant and delicious. Overall, a good spot for a snack in the afternoon!

Delicious portioned out. Had the ox tongue on rice and the portion is really worth it. A must try for ox lovers. The other is red bean tomato sauce pork knuckles is really tender and soft and the sauce is to die for! Look forward next!

Despite the number of not great reviews here, I enjoy the food here,I like their $11.80 specials that include a drink and are excellent value,the majority of the food is quite different to your standard casual Chinese food found in Melbourne,Im not from Macau, so I dont know whether the food is authentic or not but its pretty good for me.As for the service, most of the complaints are about one staff member and I think she knows who she is.  However, this place is good for a quick, casual relaxing meal

Speaking as a local that grew up in Hong Kong.Farol Macau is a typical restaurant that will serve you food and services just like if you are in Hong Kong or Macau.The price is very competitive, I have not been able to find anywhere else that sells cheaper food with the standard they have, especially the specials after lunch time. I will definitely recommends this place for a quick meal. Dont expect fancy deco or food presentation, because you are going to a wrong place if this is what you expected.
