I quite enjoyed the donut shaped entree with the onion chutney and the spicy red one too. The mild potato curry was creamy and super smooth while the chicken one had a great combination of flavours. The rice cakes went great with the curries and I loved the fruit and nuts in the rice. Even though my wife wasn't a huge fan of all of it, I have a new place to eat when she's away. Oh yeah, the staff were super friendly and helpful too.
We went for dinner, the restaurants around were full but this one was totally empty. We wandered why (often it's not a good sign) but something told us to give it a try. We are so glad we did!! First of all: the staff was super nice.. it made us feel very comfortable. Second but not less important: the food was AMAZING.. Seriously, one has to try it to understand. We are vegan and we had many options to choose from. We went for the vegetable curry tasting plate and the Kurakkan roti (flat bread).. It was a joy eating a so tasteful food.. 100% recommended!!! And don't be fooled by an empty restaurant, maybe it's just a treasure no one has discovered yet.
Firstly the warm Welcome and great ambiance of the staff and Restaurant were Excellent. . The food was delicious took me down memory lane with the tantalizing flavours of different spices and exotic foods..the varieties in the buffet were excellent. Thoroughly recommend this culinary experience of delicious food a must try for anyone wanting a delicious experience.
Dined here recently with 10 other people on a Saturday night. They were running a $25 buffet, food was pretty good and tasted authentic Sri Lankan. Overall the $25 charge for the buffet was good value for money. Ceylon Dine in Style buffet is probably slightly above Fire Spice's Sunday night buffet for the mere fact that you can actually get your hands on some egg and or plain hoppers very easily and the extra condiments. Only sour note was when my table went to pay our bill they tried to charge each of us $3.50 for corkage. 1 person in party brought their own bottle of wine and opened it themselves. They tried to make a quick $35 extra out of us, after some discussing they backed out and didn't charge. otherwise it was a good night out.
As someone who has been to SriLankan, I couldnt help but appriciate the small details the restaurant put in decor to make it authentic. As for the food, each morsel was filled with genuine authenticity and delicacy which is hard to find these days.. the wait staff was very friendly and I left the restaurant with a very feel good feeling. Will definitely be going there regularly now.
