China King - Brantford

Fresh, tasteful, great portions and delicious! The general two chickens amazing and the Veggie Chiff Suey, probably the best tasting I ever had.

3 of us went for our usual, lemon chicken, snow peas and water chestnuts and rice comes with it. Usually lots of sauce with the snow peas and lemon sauce is usually thin and tasty. Now hardly any sauce in the peas mixture and lemon sauce is thick and tasted like fake lemons . Must be new owners, quality not as good and to top it off 4 kids running around chasing each other. Not an enjoyable dinner. And the decor needs updating and new china, Won’t be back . Very disappointed!!

.A WARNING! Do not order chinese food from China King in Brantford! I called them last night to place an order for delivery. The gentleman who took my order had no accent whatsoever (so there was no language issue). Below is a description and pictures of what I received. 1. Chicken Fried Rice Had lots of chicken in it, but was virtually tasteless, but the most shocking thing was the piece of wood that was in it, and found it's way into my mouth. The first pic is of the wood, with a lighter to indicate size. 2. I ordered Chicken Balls, which is white meat with a breading around it and fried lightly. I received white meat with a crusty batter, not breading, and definitely not round shaped! This is the second picture. 3. I wanted an order of Barbequed Spare Ribs, and received two dry ribs in a small bag, no sauce...nothing. Picture #3. 5. Almond Soo Guy. No almond slivers, no gravy whatsoever, just white meat covered in a rubbery tasteless batter. PLUS, I explained to the gentleman that we needed lots of packets of Soya Sauce and Plum Sauce to go with this. He stated they normally put in three of each. I explained we will need more than that and he assured me he will make sure we have extra. We received two packets of Plum, and 1 packet of Soya!

A tasteless dry meal that the restaurant refused to remedy. Very surprised with the poor food and poor service.

New ownership has made quite a difference to the detriment of this once great restaurant. Appears to be of considerable poorer quality. This was in our opinion one of the finest Chinese restaurants in SW Ontario. We will now have to find another location to meet with friends for lunch and dinner for Chinese quisine. Very disappointing for Brantford in general. We have been going to this restaurant since the early 1990s. Changed hands suddenly and changed quality suddenly as well. We are saddened by this.
