Joey's Seafood Restaurants - Brantford

My daughter and I had dinner here tonight. It was great. Not only was the food good but the waiter we had made the dining experience even better. He was very friendly, had a great sense of humour and was great with my kids. Even when my 2 month old got fussy and cried uncontrollably he made me feel comfortable and not like I had to rush out because my baby was crying.

My first decent restaurant in Canada, unlike numerous of fast-foods. The clam soup is scrumptious. The staff is friendly

What can I say, just amazing food and kind and attentive sweet Staff. They are all very professional. We ordered fish and chips combo with 2 haddocks each and it came with coleslaw and chips, lightly battered and not greasy. Mouthwatering Lobster bisque and harumi. How I do it is I dip the chips and harumi in the lobster bisque and the word goes into a halt. It was that good.The amount I spent including tip was $85and worth every penny. It was delicious. We have been ordering from Joeys for years, and the food was always great. Tonight was a disappointment. I ordered by phone and was told the food would be ready at 5:45. After arriving to pick up my order, I waited for an hour. I wasn’t the only person waiting for over an hour for their food.I ordered the Cajun combo. My fish and shrimp had no seasoning on it. It tasted fishy and bland. The garlic bread was soggy and not toasted. My boyfriends food was ok. I did notice new staff in the kitchen. We received a coupon for a free meal. Just hope the food is better “IF” we order from here again.

Having recently relocated to Brantford, I've been exploring various restaurants to find my new favorites. For fish and chips, I would definitely recommend Joey's. The portions of fish are generous, the chips are neither soggy nor greasy, and the service is quite good. Update (April 2023): The menu has changed, and many appetizer options are no longer available. Several other items have disappeared as well, including the "3 for $15" selections that I used to enjoy. It's a shame because I really liked that aspect of the menu.
