Marrocco's - Brighton and Hove

I made a reservation for a birthday dinner celebration at this restaurant. I had enjoyed the food and generous portion sizes during a previous visit, but this time I noticed a significant decline in both. The calamari starter, which cost £10.25, only had around 7 small pieces. The pizza was overly oily, and the fish and batter were undercooked. The chicken and pasta dish also came with a minimal amount of spaghetti. While the service was fast, the overall quality of the food was disappointing. Regrettably, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

What a gem of a restaurant! When we first arrived, there was a huge line (for the ice cream counter; the entrance is to the right of that). The food itself was top-notch, 5 stars all the way! The flavors were incredible and the dishes were served promptly, despite the busy crowd. The chefs were meticulous and the staff were friendly and attentive, always with a smile on their faces. Special shoutout to our waiter Christo, who was also fantastic. We felt very welcomed and will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

Arrived in Brighton for the day brought my friend to the famous ice cream place Came here 10 years ago with my family. I walked for 40 minutes in the rain with my friend! The weather was very bad When we arrived we both ordered a ice cream. Asked if we was allowed to sit down just for 5 minutes to rest after pur long walk and was soaking wet in the rain. We was both very tied and we was in our early 70s The young girl behide the counter said it wasn't allowed I explained we had walked here for 40 min in the rain just wanted to rest . I asked to speak to the manager surely it would be good will to allow us to sit for 5 minutes The restaurant was empty all the tables was empty . The lady in charge said no I thought it was very bad manners and bad customer service considering that we was elderly. I am discussed in the way we was both treated. I don't wish that on anyone to be treated like this. I felt embarrassed. I will never visit there again, and would not be recommen this to any of my friends or family . There was a family sitting in there eating their icecreams With their two young children The girls was 10 or older They had finish eating The parents didn't evern offer us to sit down for few minutes Evern though the two girls had finish eating. If that was me I would told my two girls to stand to let two elderly ladies sit just for 5 minutes. Again people with no manners What is the world coming to where some people show no respect. I always believe to be kind and always offer your seat to a person who most needs it. I don't blame the young girls I blame the parents who have bad manners who havent taught them the right ways .

I've always like Marroccos it's a very authentic Italian restaurant that does not only great seafood, but also great standard Italian fare (Pasta, Bruschetta etc). It used to be cheaper and better value for money, but then everything has gone up in price, and eating out is no longer a cheap option anywhere. The service I have always found as efficient and very decent. Never had any issues on the multiple times I've been unlike some of the reviews on here. I do sometimes wonder what people expect these days. One comment I would make is that I do find it incredible that people think the restaurant not allowing people who have only purchased an ice cream to use the tables is somehow out of order. This is a restaurant and a business at the end of the day, and they can do what they like. If they let every parent who'd just bought little Tarquin or Philomena a 99 with sprinkles use of the tables, they'd be bust in a week Hove is now full of these achingly liberal, sharp elbowed middle class types sadly, and nothing really surprises me with what they choose to whine about. Keep it up Marrocco's. We'll definitely keep coming as we have been doing for the last twenty five years.
