Shushokuya Masa - Brisbane

I visited this restaurant for the first time and found it to be small but with good spacing between tables. The self-service system using iPads at each table was convenient. The menu at this izakaya restaurant was extensive, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The portion sizes were decent and the prices were very reasonable. The drink and dessert menu was surprisingly extensive, offering Japanese beer, sake, and desserts. The service was satisfactory. I wanted to try more dishes but my stomach wasn't big enough to fit everything. I will definitely be returning in the future.

This restaurant is amazing! The Black cod miso was incredibly delicious, even better than my favorite restaurants Kiyomi and Etsu- you have to try it! The Beef tataki was packed with flavor and the condiments harmonized perfectly. The pan-fried capelins reminded me of Taiwan and were so tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of umami, and the service was excellent. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, so you can always try something new. Many of the dishes are uniquely Japanese and different from other Japanese restaurants. I will definitely be returning!

The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food is incredible, with super fresh sashimi and affordable, tasty curry on the lunch menu. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Loved everything about this experience. We ordered teppan seafood, teriyaki chicken, edamame, and the highlight dish was the grilled black cod. Impressive, high quality food, and a wide selection of sake. Will definitely be back!
