Avaliação da contribuiçãoWent to Taste of New Orleans for the first time and we were impressed with the food. Crawfish were in season and we got a pound for $8.99. Fried fish, shrimp, parmesan garlic cheese fries, and hush puppies were good also. They need someone to clean tables. Other customers entering the business had to wait on someone to come clean a table for them to sit down. All in all, we would go back again.
Amazingly fresh seafood every time we go! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend the garlic butter crab legs, shrimp broil, and their hush puppies ???? Sometimes they even have jazz player performing while we eat. I only wish that they were open a little later for dinner.
Louisiana born Chef Beverly hubby Frankie are who to see if it 's EXCELLENT Cajun seafood you want! It 's all flown in from Cajun country, so you WON 'T be disappointed. This place is my PERSONAL FAVORITE for Cajun! I 'm Kaitlyn S. of Yelp (Tampa I discovered this hidden gem the height of Covid in 2020 when it was a bright red food truck by the side of the road I was hungry. I never liked Cajun cooking until Chef Beverly served me up a hot bowl of Gumbo. Soooo g00d! I 'm currently a Gumbo Beignets addict. YES, I 'M AN ADDICT both are INCREDIBLE! Should you choose to leave w/o trying the Beignets, I hope you never learn what your mouth missed out on: Most of the recipes used here are Frankie 's late mother 's, BOY that woman could cook! Chef Beverly stepped in has filled those shoes beautifully. If it 's fresh, purged crawfish (when in season ; a Grouper sandwich; Gator Po Boy; Jumbayla; Shrimp Etouffee; Large Fried Shrimp; Crab; a Seafood Boil; or another DELICIOUS entree a fair price, your belly will be VERY HAPPY you tried Taste of New Orleanz. I regularly drive up from North Tampa alone just to eat here. But now I have yet another reason Frankie, a former International sax musician who did a stint w/ the New Orleans Saints, serenades his guests on sax every Saturday. If it 's not his music that wins you over, his big smile even bigger personality will! Kudos to this incredibly talented couple for serving up PHENOMENAL food service to locals travelers alike. Closed Sunday Monday, do yourself a favor stop in S00N. Tell 'em Kaitlin sent you. They are GOOD people!
I 'm torn! Give a well deserved 5-star review, or don 't review at all and keep this hidden gem a secret all to myself! We decided to try something new tonight, and heard very good reviews on this place in Brooksville called Taste of New Orleanz . We arrived to find plenty of parking, despite being extremely busy, which shocked us for Brooksville! Upon entering the place, it wasn 't a traditional sit-down and wait for someone to come ask have you been waited on yet? , but more of a hands-on place...and when I say hands on, I mean WOW, bring your wet wipes! Wait, I 'm getting ahead of myself here! We sat down at a small quaint booth and looked the menu over. Sooo many varieties, options, spices etc! We chose the Boss , which was a Cajun boil with potatoes, corn on the cob, kielbasa sausage, shrimp, snow crab legs, hard boiled eggs and a phenomenal garlic butter spice to boot! We asked for recommendations and they confirmed The Boss was a restaurant favorite! I would say, we sat for maybe 20 minutes tops, before we received our food, And due to recent online reviews, they were unexpectedly very busy! I can 't even really put into words, just how amazing this food was! I was kicking myself with confusion, not understanding how I didn 't know this place even existed for the last year! When I tell you the owner of the place was present, I mean he was behind the register, on top of the stove, and...drumroll, this guy busted out a saxophone and brass flute! We heard him playing from around the corner, and looked at each other and shrugged in disbelief that someone would actually be playing live at this small little quaint restaurant on a Friday evening, and play that well without charging a cover!!! We both said to ourselves No way someone is over there actually playing, I think they turned the music up ! Lo and behold, we got up and peeked around the corner and there this owner of a restaurant was sitting, Entertaining his guests with multiple instruments, with an undesc
