Avaliação da contribuiçãoHorribly rude service. After 15 minutes of sitting, out server came over; the server then took our menus after ordering appetizers and wine, and huffed and puffed about placing our main course. Their menus were in English, French, and Dutch; however I think the rudeness came from our lack of use of French. I honestly tried, but my French is not great, so I think they just dismissed us as dumb tourists. But hey...isn't that your target clientele?
Food is ok-ish, but not of the level it should be, considering the prices. Worst of all is the service: it is dramatically bad. And being on the Grand Place is no excuse for Parisian BS. This is Belgium, where going to a restaurant should not be a challenge!
The location remains nice but the food is uninspiring and mediocre. The wine list has nothing special.
This is a beautiful restaurant on the Grand Place, with a lovely oak paneled dining room and a view of the Place. The service is excellent and the food is beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the food is also distinctly mediocre. As a starter, I had the duck carpaccio from the specials menu. It was beautiful, but drowned in oil and the duck tasted distinctly not house-made. I then had the half roasted lobster. Again, beautifully presented, in a light sauce that did not overwhelm the shellfish. The claw was perfectly cooked and delicious, but the body of the beast was overdone, rubbery and tough. I finished with an excellent cup of coffee. It is too bad one can't just come here for a drink, because that would be perfect: a beautiful spot with gracious service, but go elsewhere for food.
