My “Falafel Salad” had two microscopic nuggets of falafel. Why wasn’t it called a “carrot salad” because there were three slices of carrot. There was plenty of kale and beetroot hummus. But one would expect that the falafel would be a feature of something called “falafel salad”. Has there been a failure of the chick pea crop that renders falafel prohibitively uneconomic to supply in adequate quantity? Then.. after our meals my wife requested access to the bathroom. Sure, waitress said she’d return with the key. Two minutes later the same waitress is handing over the key to the sole bathroom to a new customer who has just walked in.

Their menu is incredible food is exquisite. We tried their eggs benedict and we were wowed. It came with a potato galette instead of bread. We were informed about that by the waitress and was offered to swap potato galette with organic sourdough. Even though I was skeptical about the potato galette I decided to give it a try, and it was with was sensational. Do your self a favor and try it. Honestly the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had.

Went to The Shak with my partner and shared the mushroom ragout and eggs benny. The ragout is amazing and I’ve never seen it anywhere else, great flavours and heaps of mushrooms! The eggs benny was my favourite, honestly the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had and loved that it came with galette instead of just toast. Will definitely go back
