Avaliação da contribuiçãoWhen I booked a table for on Dec a few weeks ago, I checked the prices and opted for lunch instead of dinner because it was cheaper. Crown sent a text for me to confirm a couple of days before the date, which...I did. At around while we're still eating staff, distributed the bills and asked patrons to head to the reception to pay! I thought that was rude. When I went to pay, the cost charged per head was which is not the price that was on the list when we booked. I was told I'm being charged the festive prices. I would have never booked had I been told that the prices were going to change. Crown not only unilaterally increased the prices but also failed to advise the consumer of the change in the published (agreed) prices at the time of the booking. Had they told me, I would have cancelled the booking because the terms of then purchase arrangement has changed. All they kept saying is that Crown, in the fine writing, advised that it can change the prices. I'm fine with suppliers changing its prices, but suppliers generally advise their clients of the change in the price. I was stuck, I already ate the food, which put me in awkward position and I spent significantly more than I wanted. Crown- you're a very profitable business- you don't need to rip off your customers. And don't tell me the change in prices was recently published- I'm not sitting at home checking your website for a price change when the onus is on you to alert customers that booked based on the old prices. Staff- aside from the two girls greeting you no staff had a a smile! Where is the customer service that matches the increase in prices? Will never go again! My advice- check the prices hours before you go and if you want to cancellation rules before you do so as they take your credit card details when you book.
The hotel was extremely busy but as a star hotel it should have more staff available, same applies here. We are paying for it, but not getting the value out of it. The food is excellent, I had breakfast and dinner and every time...the food was great, but that is because it is a buffet and you take whatever you want. The beverages is when you feel the lack of staff and the stupid long delays to get anything to your table, including tap water. Coffees, alcohol, anything took forever. We were finishing our first serving when we got our beverages, for all breakfasts and dinner.
We have just spent two days at the Crown Towers where we enjoyed dinner and breakfast at EPICUREAN. The restaurant is showing signs of wear due to a constant rush of diners due to COVID and the overworked staff look positively worn out. However one...delightful young Lady, named Anne served us on two occasions and was attentive, well trained and most obliging in her manner. The food was as usual up to the same high standard we have enjoyed on previous visits, the seafood being a standout.
Epicurean. Been here a few times. Great selections. However, my concern is seeing the utensils that we put in our mouths placed directly on the table. Understand the table is cleaned each time (which I observed) but chemical is sprayed on the table and utensil...placed directly on the table each time. The chemical is to kill any bacteria (I presumed) but now it is on the utensils. However safe it is, it doesn't look or sound right. Even the old Carvers can put the utensils in a folded paper, at least more hygienic (especially now when we are in supposed to be hygiene conscious). And for a star establishment, surely it doesn't look flash. Please change.
The Epicurean is not cheap, but the amount of different dishes is amazing. I have not found anything badly cooked here. It is a very tastefully decorated Restaurant. Wonderful for Singles, Couple or Families, something for everyone to enjoy. Highly recommended.
