Avaliação da contribuiçãoI took my two grandchildren to this restaurant and when asked their ages at the start, I answered honestly. However, when I received the bill, I noticed that they had charged me the incorrect prices for their age group. I brought this to the attention of the manager, who promptly corrected the pricing. This made me suspicious as I feel this may be a normal practice, so I would advise others to check their receipts. Additionally, the prawns still had their black lines down their back indicating they were not cleaned properly, and the lemon chicken did not look anything like the picture on the menu. Despite these issues, the overall experience was great for my grandchildren as they were able to try different types of food. I would rate this experience a 4 out of 5, but that is a generous score considering the issues we encountered.
I booked a table at this restaurant at the Rock in Bury for my wife’s birthday. I could not have been more unimpressed by the service I received. I have two very young children and when I saw it was a buffet I imagined that i could show my children the various foods and they could choose what they wanted. I booked our table the night before and applied for my wife to receive her birthday meal for free. Something that was promised during the booking process. Upon arrival it quickly became apparent that the food was not out on show, but rather we would have to pick the food from a picture on an app. This already created issues. Then I was told that if we ordered something and did not eat it then we would be charged £5 per wasted dish. Without the ability to simply put a small bit of food on the plate for my kids to try, it occurred to me that every dish they did not like would be potentially be wasted and cost me £5. I tried to give over my code to get my wife’s meal for free. Apparently, as I did not get the code more than 24 hours in advance they would not honour my birthday code. Despite having photo ID to prove it was my wife’s birthday. The lady who served us was rude and sarcastic as I tried to explain our situation. We are not well off financially, but I felt this would be a nice treat for the family. I now find out I am going to have to pay full price, plus £5 extra for any plates wasted. It was not made clear on the website that this would all be done via an app and that you would not be able to go and get food yourself. Feeling absolutely trapped I asked if I could have the deposit back, or at least just have the deposit cover the drinks we ordered when we arrived, which was cheaper than the deposit. They refused and instead, I lost the deposit and was charged for the drinks. Meaning it cost me £19.70 just to walk in and have two Pepsi’s and a fruit shoot. I then had to disappoint my wife on her birthday and our two children as we had to leave the restaurant. The staff were inconsiderate and short with us. We then struggled to find somewhere to eat before our next planned event that day. I think this is utterly unacceptable service.
The staff were friendly and polite, and I was quickly seated at a table. The process of ordering was explained to me and proved to be helpful. Unfortunately, my overall experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered 8 items, but most of them were sent back because the quality of the food was the worst I have ever experienced. The food was lukewarm, and some dishes, like the prawn toast, looked nothing like the menu images and tasted awful. The ribs seemed stewed, the duck was unrecognizable, the pancakes were dry and crumbly, and the cucumber looked past its prime. The chilli crispy beef was burnt and barely edible. Although the Pepsi max was decent, the price of over £3 per glass was excessive. I refrained from ordering anything else due to my lack of confidence in the food quality. The staff were apologetic and offered to replace the dishes, but I declined as I did not want to risk another disappointing meal. It seems that many customers leave dissatisfied, based on my conversation with a staff member. I was only charged for the drink and a child’s portion as a gesture of goodwill, but considering how little I ate, I believe I should not have been charged at all. I doubt I will return to this restaurant anytime soon, as the phone ordering and robot service were not impressive either.
I made an online booking the night before my birthday at this restaurant because it seemed like a fun place. I had tried to redeem a birthday offer, but the code I received in my inbox was not valid for another 24 hours. Despite this, I brought my passport for identification in case there was any way to make an exception. Upon arriving, it was clear that this would not be possible. We had traveled from West Yorkshire and arrived in Bury 12 minutes late due to unexpected traffic. I understand that this was disrespectful and not something we would typically do, however we were not given the opportunity to explain or apologize. Instead, we were publicly scolded by one of the two ladies working at the restaurant, who claimed we were disrupting other diners, even though the restaurant was not full. Additionally, we had already paid a £10 deposit when booking with TCB Dining. The food was not just poor, it was mostly inedible. The noodles and rice were cold, the starters were dry and tasteless, and the chicken and sweetcorn soup was congealed and unappetizing. The salt and pepper chicken seemed like it may have once been part of a chicken, unlike the other chicken dishes. Overall, this was a disappointing birthday experience. The cokes were decent and the profiteroles were acceptable, but paying £60 for 4 cokes, 6 mini profiteroles, and being scolded for being late was not worth it. I will not be returning.
I really liked the create your own buffet – you can choose exactly what you want to eat and there 's less waste. The robot servers were so cute! I especially enjoyed the egg fried rice and mushroom omelette. The staff were mostly nice and paid attention to us, and the place had a good vibe. Thanks for a yummy meal!
