Really sorry that we didn't have time to eat at leisure but will definitely be back to enjoy an inn which gives the full experience of its 500 years in business. Brilliant.
Wonderful atmospheric pub with plenty of space for inside and outside dining. Great choice of menu all reasonably priced with allergen options available. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. No parking onsite. A bit of a scary, old-fashioned playground if your children are young. Supervision needed
Was very busy here but service was still great, really old and interesting inside. The black boy pie was absolutely delicious, but very hot so be warned if you're hungry! Will definitely be coming back, it's also apparently nice to stay in.
This place is phenomenal! We’ve been looking for seafood chowder and this checked all the boxes. An abundance of seafood, whitefish, salmon, mussels, shrimp, etc.some corn and root vegetables in a delectable white wine and double cream sauce. Oh and the Welsh Beef Minced Pie my husband ordered was equally as delicious.
We went with a group of non-GF folks for Easter Sunday lunch. The staff was knowledgeable about allergies and ingredients, and they had a full list of allergens present in every item on the menu. I let the server know we had a “celiac order” before we began. My (celiac) kiddo and I both enjoyed our meals and neither of us had any reaction, allowing me to confidently recommend this restaurant. She had cheese fries with a side of bacon (it was an enormous serving), and I had the vegetarian nut bake.
