Avaliação da contribuiçãoA friend and I booked for an early supper before Phantom of the Opera. Perfect location. Awesome food. The calamari dish was sprinkled with red pepper flakes and when the server found out I can't have spicy food, she brought a new serving. Delicious! My friend had the spicy one and loved it. It does get noisy with all the happy people enjoying their food and drink. Go earlier to avoid the noise if that's your preference. I will definitely return.
Local Italian restaurant with great food and super wines. Staff was more than accomodating. I will go back my next time in Calgary.
I went to Pulcinella with my family. Expectations were high when the waiter came to us saying that Pulcinella served authentic Italian food because they use just original products of Italy. Being Italian I was really excited! My husband ordered a pizza and I got Spaghetti alla Carbonara (I couldn't wait to have a real one) and my son asked for a bruschetta. When the food arrived, I was not really impressed. The bruschetta was some vinegary tomatoes on a pizza shell...or it looked that way. The pizza was ok, except for the mountain of cherry tomatoes that were lying on top it (if we wanted a salad we would have ordered a salad). And then..."the icing on the cake:" I saw my Carbonara. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating when I say that it looked like a dry, overcooked ball of pasta. When I tried to roll the spaghetti onto my fork, I couldn't separate them from the blob that was left on the plate. I tried to roll them again, this time with a little bit of strength, and they broke. Seriously?!!?Anyway, if you are wondering, it didn't taste anything like a real Carbonara and I have my serius doubts that they even used guanciale as the authentic recipe says. I am not a picky eater at all, but, if you want to eat Italian food, go somewhere else. I gave 2 stars because the place was nice and clean, service was fast and the waiter was very polite.
We visited for an evening meal and were very pleased with our experience. The service was quick and our waitress was quite friendly. The salads and pizzas were very good and tasty with fresh ingredients. Prices were reasonable. Excellent selection of wines and many choices of wine by the glass.
I went for my friend's birthday. It was my first time ever. I love Italian food. The food is amazing and very authentic. I got the lunch special for $17 you can get a 3 course meal (including an appetizer I got arracini, a salad I got the arugula and fennel salad and a pasta I got the pappardelle di bosoco its a broad fettucine pasta with wild mushrooms). I would highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to try authentic Italian food.
