Le Diplomate - Calumet-Norvelt

Always enjoy it when I get a chance to dine at Le Diplomate! It has a wonderful, cozy atmosphere, truly feels like a french cafe. Highly recommend the French Onion Soup, the Hot Toddy, and the Cheese Board!

Food is great, atmosphere is cool service is ok. Lots of people moving around and not doing as much as they seem to be doing. Takes them a bit to get you water and bread when you get seated at your table. Pricing is relatively high but good quality food! Had steak frites and burger and substituted one of the fries that comes with each to mashed potatoes. Fries were crispy and nice Paid $110

As good as it gets. The place is very popular but don’t get fooled by thinking it may be a tourist trap. It is exceptional, food and service wise. Wow best haricot verts I’ve had in a long time. I was lucky to have found a seat by the bar for lunch. I’ll be back anytime I come back to DC.

We were pleasantly surprised that they were open early on Memorial Day. Originally, I saw that they didn’t open until later so we were just going to walk around. We walked in without a reservation and were immediately seated. The interior and different dining rooms were unique and beautiful. It has a classy atmosphere but people don’t have to dress up. We ordered foie gras parfait, duck sarladaise, and eggs Norwegian. I would recommend coming hungry or being ready to take some leftovers home. Portions were very sufficient and you’ll leave stuffed. I really enjoyed the foie gras parfait. I used the complimentary bread for any leftover parfait in the jar. Don’t let that go to waste. Very creamy. Not rich or overly salty. Duck sarladaise was a large dish and can easily be shared between two people. It has duck leg confit, sunny side up egg, and potatoes. It’s a very palatable dish. I had a bite of the eggs Norwegian. The smoked salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly. Hollandaise sauce is very savory. I recommend coming here if you’re looking for a good brunch place or dinner. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive. Restaurant was clean. Prices were reasonable.

A great place to get an amazing meal in DC. All the dishes my family ordered were appetizing and amazing! Sorry, we ate all the food then realized I did not take any pictures. ? Both the food and customer service was top notch! Highly recommended.
